New Chairman's Speech

Internal Press Release 4 – 30 th January 2005

Distinguished Members of EIC,

I would like to congratulate you all for attending our very first AGM and for making the meeting a worthwhile experience. I am honoured and privileged to be voted in as the new Chairman of this great organisation. I would like to congratulate and welcome the new Executive Team on board and wish them great success this year.

I would also want to use this opportunity to say a big well done for the previous Executives for their handwork last year, particularly to our first Chairman, Dr Chuks Opara for holding the mantle of leadership from a difficult onset and laying a good foundation. Even more so, I would like to thank you, the members for the unique part you have played in building the club, without you, EIC would not exist.

As the new Chairman, my main focus this year is twofold; firstly, to ameliorate our investment strategy and approach, and secondly, to consolidate the investment knowledge within the team. A number of projects are already on its onset. We will explore different investment strategies and invest more aggresively, possibility investing outside the UK market. I believe our collective knowledge is our greatest asset, thus the new Eagles Online Investment Library will aid in the facilitation of building and consolidating our investment knowledge.

This year, I believe the new emphasises would translate into more success in the investment arena and enable us build on the modest 3.3% return we achieved in our first year. Our goal is to constantly perform well above market levels. We also welcome media opportunities to build up the profile of the club.

Lastly, it just remains me to encourage you member to get on board, fasten your seatbelt and let's soar on eagles wings this year. The best is yet to come!

I remain,

James O Maduekeh
